Synopsis
‘Gelapkan Habis Terangkan Datang’ tells the story of two young individuals who bravely stand against ancient traditions in pursuit of a better future, set against the backdrop of a remote Malay village deeply rooted in customs and age-old customs.
Pati Amar, the male lead, is a bright and open-minded young man with big ambitions to bring change to his village. However, his dreams are blocked by strict village rules that forbid education even enforced by his own father, Pati Bahri. Education is seen as a threat that could disrupt a way of life that has existed for centuries.
On the other side, Hamidah, the female lead, carries the same fighting spirit but faces equally daunting challenges. Inspired by national heroine RA Kartini, Hamidah dreams of putting an end to the tradition of child marriage that robs many young girls of their future. She also passionately advocates for gender equality a concept considered foreign and improper by the local community.
The clash between the progressive younger generation and the conservative older generation forms the heart of the story. Pati Amar must confront his own father, Pati Bahri, in a conflict that determines not only the future of education in the village, but also their relationship as father and son. Meanwhile, Hamidah faces mounting pressure from those around her who seek to silence her voice and aspirations.
